A holder with two independent spinning positions, for work that uses two strands at once — colourwork, held-double chunky knitting, or simply knitting from two ends of a gradient. Two balls in one basket tangle within minutes; two on separate bearings do not. Two positions also suit knitting a gradient from both ends at once, which is how a symmetrical shawl is worked without cutting the yarn.
