A jumbo chenille yarn, the very soft velvety type used for baby blankets and cushion covers. Chenille has a pile like velvet, which gives the finished piece its softness and also means it behaves differently on the needles from a plain spun yarn. Jumbo weight also works up fast enough that a blanket is a weekend rather than a winter, which is most of the reason chenille sells the way it does.

Care & Use
Chenille is prone to worming — loops working themselves out of the fabric — if knitted loosely, so keep the tension firm and use the smaller needle size in the recommended range. It also sheds pile on the first wash. Machine wash cool on a gentle cycle and dry flat.
